The Red
Troika (Alex, Don, and Adam) engage in a critical exploration of
YouTube food reviews using Guy Debord's The Society of the
Spectacle. We get a little experimental on this one in trying to
apply our icy-cold muthafuckin' takes and liquid hot magma
theoretical orientation to the likes of Joey's World Tour and
ReviewBrah (aka The Report of the Week). Consumer culture,
commodity fetishism, democratization of the means of media
production, and religious ecstasy are just some of the things talk
about on this one.
